After returning home from IRAQ as a wounded warrior bound to a wheelchair over a decade ago Joshua Holm defeated the odds and was able to walk again. Holm dedicated his life to the ministry and helping Veterans. His vision to serve the veterans community is through Steel Hope.
Steel Hope is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping others. The mission is to build, equip, and empower others to be people who will continually BE STEEL, Believe, Expand, Stand, Transform, Encourage, Enlighten, and Love around the world.
Holm suffered a setback in December 2022. While bending down and reaching he heard a pop in his back and fell unable to walk. Holm was flown to Harris Methodist in Fort Worth, where he underwent MRI and CT scan tests. The physicians said they could operate, but there were no guarantees. There was a lot of fluid on his spine, indicating physical trauma had occurred. Listening to options on how to proceed Holm decided on “intense rehabilitation,” starting with 20 days at Palo Pinto Nursing and Rehabilitation, five hours of work each day.
